Coming home to this beautiful girl

Image
Okay, for the family that will have to adopt her, she is not perfect. But when she's over her fear to bond with everyone, this is what you come home to. She WILL get there. I promise.  Her happiness, her devotion, her love, her cuddles are unyielding. She's totally worth it!

Molly smiling

This is the hardest thing I've ever tried to capture. But if you like super pay attention. She SMILES!! I never thought I'd have a smiling dog, I see it on videos all the time!  Okay maybe I'm way too excited, but how can I not. She grits her teeth letting you know she's super excited you're home. See it? See it? It's the greatest!

Nail trimming and shower

So we did our first shower yesterday and she did great since we decided to split up shower and drying duties of an Aussie and a Sheltie. Even though she still hesitates with my boyfriend, she did great and held still.  She definitely did NOT like the hair dryer, but she burrowed her head in my armpit and let it happen.  After her shower and dry, she had some knots around her bum area. So out come the scissors. She did amazing surprisingly. I trimmed the knots, and she held so still, I trimmed up her overgrown fur around her paws and bottom of her paws (she slips on our floors lol). Then even got her arms/legs. Her rump was super overgrown. So we gave it a good trim and she not has a round rump to match her cute nubbin wag. She looks clean and did SO well!  A couple weeks ago I trimmed her nails and she didn't so much like it, but she didn't fight at all. I held her paws and she let it be.  BOND update: She still barks when he enters the room I'm in. But she backs dow...

Sweet sweet Molly

It's been one week shy of 2 months and she's grown for sure. She knows lay down for sure. We're working on sit, hence the hesitance in the video. Those gentle paws when she wants attention and her gentle nudges. So sweet!!!

So relaxed

I mean, could she be more at home? lol She's super excited when I get up and hyper when we go out. She tugs on the leash a bit then gets the idea of walking.  The bonding with others in the home....how's it going? Well it comes and goes. Lots of movement causes her some anxiety, but if the others in the home stand their ground, she gets it. And then she is beginning to try and get attention and more curious about my boyfriend, then reserved. Sometimes she will not even get up and continue laying down.  Slow and steady. Otherwise she's her happy go lucky self. Eat, sleep, play, rest, fluffy and loving.

Her bond

She's getting used to some impromptu snapshots. Yes, she's out of frame, but that look of curiosity.  Quirk #2, she pees when she's excited and does submissive peeing too. All's well, it will calm down when she's more settled. But truth is out.  It's been a month and some change....and she is slowly bonding with my boyfriend. She doesn't bark as often. She sits when he walks close. She will even walk up to him and bump him for attention. IT CAN WORK ladies and gentlemen. You can teach an...well....she's not that old. lol  Going to keep seeing what she's got. That tail wag though when you come home and all she wants is that pet. 😍

So much in 1 month!!

Has it been 4 weeks already!!! Where does the time go! So summer has been busy. Molly has really grown to know she can feel at home. She's learned that all couches and pillows and beds are super comfortable. But she does prefer to sleep in our own area and does not jump on the bed ..... yet.  She has definitely bonded with myself, my daughter and our other pup. SO....this resource guarding I saw all over her profile....we've figured it out.  She has been perfect with my smaller dog and child. She will meet another dog soon so we'll see if it's really selective or just how the meeting goes. She absolutely will tolerate play and nuisance, but she knows her limit and will correct, but that's it, a quick growl.  NOW....her bond. YES she DOES choose to strongly bond with one person. My boyfriend has been the outed stranger. And she will bark when he comes in the same room, or comes in he house after work, or even walking toward the couch if my daughter and I are sittin...
